The American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) is an international society comprising of professionals committed in enhancing the education, application and science of immunogenetics and transplant immunology. ASHI established its accreditation program in the year 1974 with the objective to achieve the highest standards in terms of reliability and quality in histocompatibility testing laboratories and then maintaining them by remaining updated with the state of the art facilities.  ASHI accreditation was initially voluntary and still remains voluntary. The association has a principle purpose to evaluate laboratory personnel, procedures and facilities which determines their compliance regarding ASHI standards,thereby promoting  the educational aspects involving  the accreditation process, particularly to assist laboratories to rectify the deficiencies, provide  expert advice and help committees of the society .They even make the society aware about the standard and novel procedures and methodologies. The American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) is a non-profit organization dealing with clinical and research professionals including immunologists, molecular biologists, pathologists, transplant physicians, technologists, geneticists and surgeons. As a professional society involved in histocompatibility, immunogenetics and transplantation, ASHI is dedicated to advancing the science and application of histocompatibility and immunogenetics; hence providing a platform for the exchange of information; and implying the highest standards of laboratory testing in the interest of optimal patient care. The mission of the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, which is an international society of professionals is to devote their work for development in the field of science, education and application of immunogenetics and transplant immunology. The society with a foremost authority and leading educational resource in immunogenetics and histocompatibility desires to better the human life quality standard and health through acquiring and implementing scientific discoveries to clinical practice. Human Immunology is a monthly, peer-reviewed journal providing an exchange of information and ideas on structural polymorphism occurring in HLA genes of healthy and diseased individuals, record their function, regulation and expression for both normal and malignant cells. The journal also publishes research based on the structure and function of molecules that playing important role in the activation and regulation of the immune system, and on the immune response of patients with transplants, autoimmunity or infectious diseases. Research in subcateogories like neuroimmunology, developmental and reproductive immunology and immunopharmacology are also included, as well as editorials and seminar series on topics of general concern are found in their journal editions. Human Immunology is monthly journal published by Elsevier Science Publishing Company, New York.

Immunology is a very wide topic and there are numerous associations focussed on particular areas of immunology present all over the world. There are a number of Immunological Societies present worldwide and that may be within a particular country or be present throughout the world. However, American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI)  is one of the well known societies in the US. Histocompatibility is a well researched topic while immunogenetics is a very new area both under the field of immunology and there are quite a few societies and associations that carry out work related to these areas of immunology. These societies work in different areas of Immunology like Clinical Immunology , Inflammation and Therapies , Transplantation Immunology , Autoimmune Diseases , Pediatric Immunology and many such other regions. These associations are situated mostly in Japan, Singapore, India, New Zealand ,Australia and China. All the societies share a common purpose which is to enhance Dental research works and provide the world with better dental facilities.

Middle East Immunology Societies : In Middle East there are about 23  Immunology Associations and societies present. These societies provide excellent oppurtunities to aspiring  researchers of the field by giving them chance to meet connoisseurs of the field, by organizing annual and biannual Immunology Annual Conferences in mostly Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Nursing Societies in Middle East are involves various areas of nursing including Vaccines and Immunotherapy, Immunodeficiency, neuroimmunology etc.
