International Association For Food Protection

The International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) represents a broad range of members with a singular focus — protecting the global food supply. Within the association, you will find educators, government officials, microbiologists, food industry executives and quality control professionals who are involved in all aspects of growing, storing, transporting, processing and preparing all types of foods.

Working together, IAFP members, representing more than 50 countries, help the association achieve its mission through networking, educational programs, journals, career opportunities and numerous other resources.

The International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), founded in 1911, is a non-profit association of food safety professionals based in Des Moines, Iowa. The organization claims a membership of over 3,000 members from 50 nations. The mission of the IAFP is to provide food safety professionals worldwide with a forum to exchange information on protecting the food supply.

The Association provides its members with an information network on scientific, technical, and practical developments in food safety and sanitation through its two scientific journals, Food Protection Trends and Journal of Food Protection, its educational Annual Meeting, and interaction with other food safety professionals.

As members of the International Association for Food Protection, we recognize the importance of our profession in assuring the quality and safety of food throughout the world and, therefore accept a personal obligation to conduct ourselves according to the highest ethical and professional standards.

  • American Dietetic Societies : USA is considered to be the hub of research. There are several societies working on different field, out of which almost 50 USA Dietetic Societies and associations are present.  These societies and association are located in Maryland, Illinois, Washington, California and Florida.
  • European Dietetic Societies : More than 12 Dietetic Societies in Europe are contributing towards Dietetic research activities through their annual congress, journal and newsletters. Majority of these European Dietetic Societies and Associations are located in Sweden, UK, Canada, Europe.
  • Asia-Pacific Dietetic Societies :  There are almost 10 Asian Dietetic Societies working on human, animal as well as plant Dietetic. These associations are situated mostly in Japan, Singapore, India and China. These societies were established in different time periods by eminent pathologists and scientists working in this field.
