Dr. Frank Kosikowski of Cornell University has founded The American Cheese Society in 1983 as a popular national society for appreciation of cheese and for farm and home cheesemaking.

With 150 attendees the first annual conference of ACS was held at Cornell in 1983, comprised cheesemakers of small-scale/home, merchants, academics and people interested in cheese. An elected panel of officers and a Constitution with Bylaws were implemented at that first meeting, setting the basis for future development. At present, ACS holds 1700 members throughout the industry.

From modest early stages and directed by a revelation that American Cheese could significance a cheese community can be shaped as hundreds of devoted and fervent persons have combined to fashion a lively and prosperous Society composed to continue to drive the limits in the upcoming years. ACS is the frontrunner in endorsing and supporting American cheeses. ACS offers the cheese society with educational capitals and interacting prospects, while inspiring the uppermost ideals of cheesemaking concentrated on its safety and sustainability.

Some societies are also located in different other countries, whereas their head offices are located in USA.  As of today approximately 105 Cancer Societies, 35 Immunology societies, 75 Cardiology Societies, 35 Diabetes societies, 36 Toxicology societies, 52 Nursing societies are located in different parts of USA  such as Baltimore, Florida, Chicago, California, Georgia, Texas, Illinois and Ohio.

European Medical Societies: In European region there are almost 425 medical societies and associations located in UK, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Norway and Netherlands. Next to USA, Europe is considered to have excellent research facilities and infrastructures. There are almost 105 Cancer Associations, 52 Pathology societies, 32 Nursing Societies, 42 Neurology Societies, 20 Dermatology Societies, 25 Immunology Societies, 19 Dentistry Associations and 34 Ophthalmology societies  along with many other societies and associations,  these societies were established with an aim of improving the scope and interaction among the researchers and the scientific world.

Asia- Pacific Medical Societies: Asia is the largest and the most populous continent. There are many medical societies and associations in different countries, which will be almost 575 societies in number approximately. Majority of the societies are located in Australia, China, Malaysia, New Zealand, India, Japan, Philippines and Singapore. In Asian countries there are around 98 Cancer Societies, 110 Diabetes Societies, 42 Cardiology Societies, 85 Food and Nutrition Association and Societies, 21 Nephrology Societies and many other societies on diverse field are present in Asia- pacific countries which are contributing towards the research world.

Middle East Medical Societies: Societies and Association located in the Middle East region are almost 376 in number. These are mostly located in Turkey, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. In Middle East, nearly 44 Dentistry Societies, 25 Surgery Societies, 32 Cancer Societies, 52 Diabetes Societies, 74 Pediatrics Societies along with many other societies, associations and organizations are supporting the researchers and scientists to accomplish their researches in the particular research field.
