International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine

Chief of ISAKOS is Dr. Philippe Neyret. International Arthroscopy Association (IAA) and the International Society of the Knee (ISK) were merged in 1995 at Hong Kong meeting to form into International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). ISAKOS is a society consists of more than 4,000 active members who share their knowledge in the surgical field. It conducts conferences once in two years. Since its formation 10 conferences were conducted across almost all the continents. Doctors who have ability in medical or science fields and who are interested in knee surgery, arthroscopy is eligible to become the member of ISAKOS. These members are not eligible to hold office and are not entitled to vote. Members who are qualified in the field of orthopedists, musculoskeletal surgeons, rheumatologists and are in good medical standings are eligible to become as the associate member of ISAKOS. These members are entitled to vote and are eligible to hold office. Since its inception in 1995, ISAKOS members have been increasing constantly at more than 80% every year. Regional societies and National societies can also become the part of ISAKOS if they are abide by the rules and regulations of ISAKOS, providing a larger arena where these national societies and continental organizations can combine their strengths in an international forum. ISAKOS Congresses are useful in sharing societal and research information, which are known for its variety, diverse and high quality presentations.

Many Surgical Associations are formed worldwide, both nationally and internationally. In any case, ISAKOS emerges to be a stand out amongst the most famous affiliations both in Europe and around the world. International experts reviewed the literature and the experiences of clinicians to achieve a great success and to get the best results. Changes were made in technological and engineering design, and manufacturing standards for anaesthesia equipment were established with fallible human beings in mind. Some of the Down Syndrome Associations in different parts of the world are as follows:

American Surgical Associations: USA is considered to be the hub of research. There are several associations working on different field, out of which almost 58 USA Surgical Associations and associations are present.  These associations and association are located in Chicago, New York, Orlando, San Antonio, San Ramon.

European Surgical Associations: More than 48 Surgical Associations in Europe are contributing towards surgical research activities through their annual congress, journal and newsletters. Majority of these European Surgical Associations are located in Belgium, Ireland, UK and Italy, Spain.

Asia-Pacific Surgical Associations:  There are almost 32 Asian Surgical Associations working on various surgical operations. These associations are situated mostly in Japan, Singapore, India and China. These associations were established in different time periods by eminent orthopedists and scientists working in this field.

Middle East Surgical Associations: In Middle East almost 19 Surgical Associations are present. These associations are organizing annual and bi-annual Surgical Annual Conferences in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Surgical Associations in Middle East are involved with surgical and arthroscopic operations as well.

Surgical Associations Conferences: There are almost 216 Down syndrome Meetings and conferences which are scheduled by these associations for the year 2016 and 2017 in different parts of the globe. These international Surgical Conferences and Surgical Annual Meetings are intended to bring together all the recent researches, new innovations and findings in a global platform.
