American Association for the surgery of Trauma nurtures research and education to advance the quality of core to trauma patients. Founded in 1938 by a group of likeminded surgeons whose primary focus was on the management of the major trauma patient. It has now become the foremost surgical association and the professional community for surgeons dedicated to scholarship and improving the core of the critically ill and injured patients. The American Association for the surgery of trauma is dedicated to unearthing, disemation, execution and evaluation of knowledge related to grave core surgery by enhancing professional development in an environment of comradeship and collegiality. AAST has become one of the vital organisations in the organization of trauma care and has accepted evidence-based changes of medical practice. Moreover, its members have provided evidence that has improved medical and surgical care.

Eastern Association for the surgery of Trauma: - The Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) provides a forum for the exchange of knowledge to advance the care and rehabilitation of the injured patient. EAST places particular emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, scholarship, fellowship and developing leadership among young surgeons active in the care of the injured patient. EAST provides a variety of educational opportunities from the Annual Scientific Assembly, EAST's premier educational event, to online education. 

European Society for Trauma & Emergency Surgery: - ESTES was formed in 2007 by the merger of the European Association for Trauma & Emergency Surgery and the European Trauma Society.  Since then it has continued to promote best practice in the provision of emergency and trauma surgery from pre-hospital care through diagnosis, intervention and intensive care to rehabilitation.  This is underpinned by international collaboration, scientific research, development and delivery of training courses, and the work of the specialist sections (Disaster & Military Surgery, Emergency Surgery, Polytrauma, Visceral Trauma as well as Skeletal Trauma and Sports Medicine). ESTES holds an annual scientific meeting – the European Congress for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ECTES) and produces a bi-monthly journal – the European Journal for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (EJTES).   ESTES also provides practical support through Grants and Fellowships.

International Association for Trauma Surgery and Intensive Care (IATSIC):- IATSIC is a collective member society within the broader International Society of Surgery (ISS/SIC). IATSIC was established in 1989 and has grown and developed into the most important international professional association in its field. Its membership comprises trauma surgeons, emergency surgeons, acute-care surgeons, anaesthesiologists and intensivists from every corner of the world. IATSIC is mainly engaged in the activities promoting communication, education, and advocacy in trauma care, internationally. Education is provided by IATSIC most importantly, in the form of the National Trauma Management Course (NTMC), Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC) and Definitive Anaesthetic Trauma Care (DATC) courses offered regularly throughout the world.
